Quest for Sleep

Here's a little sleep plan I figured out after many days of online research and asking random pregnant ladies around town :)

Chiropractic adjustments and spot massage. Isn't this table FUNNY??? It's not the one that my chiropractor uses.. but it was the only picture of a prenatal table I could find and thought the boob cutouts were hilarious :) Dr. Walkerwicz does use a special drop table, but just the stomach section drops down. The hip part is spring-loaded so that it drops and comes back up with the hip adjustments. It was WONDERFUL! And there was a massage therapist on site who rubbed my lower back and left hip. I've never been so excited and thankful to drop my drawers and have a stranger rub my butt cheek :)

I have to constantly remind myself to be more disciplined with yoga. When I stretch during the day, I sleep better at night. Last week, I kept forgetting but hopefully this week will be better :) I picked up Shiva Rea's prenatal yoga DVD from Target during my first trimester. It seemed way too easy then, but is FABULOUS now that my belly is bigger!

Boppy belly wedge. SOOOO wonderful! I think Gabriel likes it too. He used to kick, kick, kick, kick in my side at about 3-4 AM, but since I've been using the support wedge, he seems to sleep more soundly with only a few bumps and summersaults through the night.. no more relentless pounding. Regular pillows shoved under my belly kept sliding out all night and weren't working for me, so when I saw this at a consignment sale I figured why not try it out? In fact, I loved it so much I went to Babies'r'us the next day and bought another one for back/hip support. :)
Boppy Total Body Pillow. I TRIED not to buy this thing! I mean $55 for a pillow is just outrageous when I can use all our guest pillows shoved under, above, around for a few months. After asking several random preggers at a consignment sale, the general consensus is that a pregnancy pillow is a must have for a decent and pain-free night sleep. They were actually all pretty passionate about the subject, so I figured there might be something to it. After making my myself ignore years of tightwad tendencies and a day of buyers remorse, I bought it and slept with it. HOLY MOLY! All those ladies were right!!!

If someone would figure out a way to make a preggo bladder last all night, I'd be set :)

Oh man, wish I'd had that Boppy belly wedge! That would have saved me many hours of sleep :) And I'm with you on the bladder invention - if you find out, let me know. Haha.

Gosh, I thought those things were cup holders :):)

The pillows look really comfy. Glad it is helpoing. Do you have any baby lullaby music yet? Seems studies show classical music is played during pregnancy baby is calmer, sleeps better....and so does everyone else.

Girl, I spent $60+ for a pregnancy body pillow that wraps around the front AND the back of you. Matthew laughed at first, but it REALLY helped. Are you snoring? Toward the end I really started snoring. Matthew used to go sleep on the couch. lol. xoxo
