Oooo... baby baby!!!!

Introducing Baby Steffen!

Today was our big ultrasound! Most importantly, baby Steffen is healthy and growing right on schedule. Baby is VERY active and kept moving around each time the ultrasound tech would try to to capture a shot. We thought it was pretty darned cute to see all the wiggling and flipping around :) However, one thing that baby DID keep still for was the money shot everyone has been eagerly awaiting if you know what I mean ;) IT'S A... nana nana boo boo.. you'll all have to wait.. we've decided to share the news in person this weekend at our family reunion first. :) After that EVERYONE will know!
To make this week of waiting a little more exciting, I've included a poll at the bottom of this post where you can vote whether baby Steffen has 'peanuts' or a 'china'. Take your best guess.. you have a 50/50 chance of being right and the winners will get the satisfaction of knowing they are infact the baby whisperer or just have pretty good luck. Polls close Saturday at noon, so place your bets early!
I didn't fare as well as our little person did. I almost passed out on the table not once, but TWICE! The first time, I told the tech I was getting a little light headed, so she inclined the table. Didn't help.. it kept getting worse so I told her.. I think I'm going to PASS OUT! I sat up straight, started sweating like a man and don't really remember the next however many minutes that passed. Next thing I knew, I was standing up next to the table with a cup of water in my hand (I still have no idea how or why I got off the table.. hhhmm). Everything went back to normal, so I laid back down, 10-15 minutes later I started feeling queasy again so told her before getting light-headed.. too late! Sweat, nausea, stars, stuffy ears. I'm not sure Lee knew how to help.. but he did get some pictures. :) After laying back down, she had me prop up one of my hips so I was partially on my side to keep the blood flowing back up to my vital and oh so important organs like heart, lungs and brain. Everything was fine from then on.. shew! Now I know why all the books tell you not to lay on your back after the first trimester. The whole ordeal complete with two almost faintings lasted an hour. The ultrasound tech was super sweet, 7 1/2 months pregnant herself, and definitely earned her money today. ;)

Trying my best not to pass out.

What kind of baby bits is baby Steffen sporting?

What a sweet baby profile! :) And geez! How you look like a model while getting an ultrasound and almost fainting is beyond me! Can't wait to hear what you are having!

Wow, already a beautiful baby. This is priceless. Glad Lee took some photos too. It is a good thing Lee was there with you. How do you manage to look so glamorous all the time? Half way there, how exciting. You are a beautiful mother to be. Thanks so much for sharing such glorious experiences. Can't wait to receive the secret news. Hope you have a great time at the reunion. They will all be so excited for you and Lee, give everyone big hug for us. I figured out how to set up my own gmail account. Love, Mom

Hey Traci!
I clicked on your blog after you commented on mine- congrats on the 20 week mark! We are so excited to get to that point and find out what we're having, too. How fun! Have fun sharing your news this weekend!

He is a beautiful baby and of course I'm not biased. It's amazing how clear the picture is. After your ordeal, Traci, labor will be a breeze. haha
