Travel, puppies, gnats and other ramblings.

17 weeks!

I seem like a boring pregnant woman.. nothing to report again this week! Everything's still going really well :)

Right now, I'm sitting here watching Lee pack 10 days worth of toiletries into a quart size ziploc baggie. I've always wondered since the airlines made that rule, what's the purpose of it? I mean come on.. NO one can fit all their toiletries in there.. I don't care who you are. As he just stated from the bathroom, "They're such losers! Why not a gallon size bag?"

Lee's leaving in the morning on a work/mission trip to Hungary, Montenegro & Prague. Usually I'm really really really really sad when he leaves and try to adopt a puppy or a little kitty cat. Actually.. I did once. After the first time he left town for 3 days, we adopted a rescue golden retriever. That lasted 4 days and she went back to the rescue place. I momentarily forgot that I don't like dogs.. I love puppies.. but dogs gross me out. Unless they're small enough to fit in a purse and don't drool, shed or smell. And for some reason, I've become allergic to cats in the past few years. I sneeze like a madwoman and have sandpaper eyes. That makes me sad.. I'd love a kitty. But I'm glad we're having a baby instead. That's so much more fun. ANYWAY.. off topic. This is the first time that we've been apart for more than 3-4 days since we been engaged and married. Luckily, I was able to have my sister and mom to come to Nashville to keep me company for the next 10 days :) That's keeping me from being TOO sad and keeping my anxiety down to a manageable level. Thank goodness for that and for them! We are going to have a GREAT time!!!

OK.. I'm off to help Lee finish up his packing and then make the bed for visitors!!! YIPPEE!!

PS.. does anyone know how to get rid of gnats in a houseplant? We've had a gnat problem lately and I FINALLY found the source today.. our new-ish houseplant (I think they're in the soil). Ugh. The other day, I even inhaled one while talking. That was NOT fun. I thought I was going to cough up a lung. Actually, as I type there's another one flying around my head. Stupid gnat. You will only get eaten, inhaled or smashed. Go away.

Cute belly! And for the gnats...I only get them if I OVERwater a house plant. Try letting the soil dry out a bit more and they should go away.

didnt realize you had a blog! we've had the gnat problem before. get those plants outside! and remove any dead leaves as they like to hide underneath.
